should you call a raise with AK unsuited?

It depends on the size of the raise, how aggresive the table has been, how tight or loose the player that made the raise is, your position, the size of your stack, limit or no-limit, etc. Well I guess that doesn't answer your question does it? Laughing Big slick is a premium hand whether its suited or not, so I would definately think about calling a raise or even better re-raising a small raise. You are a slight preflop underdog even to small pocket pairs so you have to be careful with your post flop play if you don't hit your hand. But its still not a hand that I am going to throw away too often preflop unless I am convinced that someone has pocket aces or pocket kings.

Like said, it depends on the size of the raise and the stage of the tournament. If it is the final 4 or so, I may just go all in with it. Force them to call you. Show power. Push them around Wink.

Early on, I would just call it and then take an appropriate action after the flop.

I dunno how this topic ended up here. Anyway I'll move it to the strategy section - how to play hand X.

Well if your the chip leader at the table, play it hard. If not lay low and see how it develops:)

its one of the best hands in the game and also one that I keep getting slaughterd with over and over. How too play BS Suited in the first 3 or 4 levels of a tourney how too play this hand pre flop out of position has been nightmare on elm street for me....if someone raises 3 or 4 times big blind u have too assume big pair don't you? and still how can you fold a hand that has more outs than a married womens' bedroom when the husband comes home early....

Play it agressively, the idiot who raised you probably has A with a lower card.

I always slow play it. I love A Diamond K Spade  and I slow play it. Dont raise a lot, there might be a pair in the table and you wont get your A or K in the board.

Slow play them and pray for an Ace or a King.
