If the other player acts first after the flop then you should just call his raise. This way, he thinks he has the power in the hand. He'll bet big on the flop and then you raise him.

depends on position.
if early limp and hope someone raises. if noone does and there is a dangerous flop with 2 or 2 betting gotta be prepared to fold
if late raise to take out most of limpers. ideally u only want 2 or 3 callers

Don't limp aces!! No the limp reraise all-in is a pretty obvious move making it an easy fold for him. If you are certain to be heads up, I'd probably just call and try to trap him. _________________ If it isn't Jacked up, I get the worst cards live.

Definitely smooth call. You want to make the most money possible with your good hands, so reraising all in defeats that purpose. You're a 4 to 1 favorite against any other hand except another AA (of course). Smooth call his raise and look go for the throat on the flop. One thing though, don't get this confused with slowplaying or have it lead there. You still want underdogs to lose....so make chasing expensive. It's especially important when you see a possible four flush.

I play AA very bluntly and obvious on AP b/c AP flops 3 suits all the time and ruins my AA everytime I play. Never slowplay AA, b/c if you do you will have a hard time folding them and u might get yourself in more trouble instead of making a profit.
Always raise with AA. Sometimes huge if ur an aggressive player, but u should do a cruddy raise if ur conservative so you can get at least a call or re-raise. Ive seen many times ill raise with AA with a very low raise and someone will re-raise me and I will act stupid and barely call or re-raise to get him in more.

Yeah this is tough, I guess what you did probably was the best way to play it, you never know if the guy would have beat you on the flop. You forced him to go all-in and had he called you would have been in dominating position, so I think the way you played it was right.
