I know its hard to get a read on players that you can't see, but I'd like to hear about what kind of tells you guys have figured out. I know you can watch how fast or slow people are acting, but you never know if they have a slow connection, or got a phone call, or if their dog just crapped on the carpet. One thing that I have noticed is to watch the chatter boxes. If someone has been filling up the chat box the whole game, and all of a sudden they clam up...watch out they might be holding huge. I wouldn't put alot of stock in this, but it is something to look for. It has saved some chips for me a few times. Anyone else picked up on anything?

Here are some tells I usually go after:
- A fast bet from a beginner usually means he has the nuts/top pair with good kicker.
- A fast all-in from a beginner usually means he has top pair with medium kicker.
- A long wait and then a medium sized bet is a bluff 9 / 10 times.

When you know that a person has hit the raise any button..it usually means he has a very strong hand

watch how quickly ppl check.if under the gun bets and 3 ppl check at the speed of sound then the flop missed them and they had already clicked their check button if no bet same thing happens they hit check/fold ...then bet the turn no matter what. its amazing how many pots ive won by betting the turn holding nada.

the one thing I have noticed is that if someone jumps on the pre-flop bandwagon say 10x the big blind 3 to 5 other players in the first rounds of a tourney will call flop comes and everyone checks you have just put (in some tourneys) 25% of you stack out there and then check the turn and another check the river falls and someone will make a bet, most will fold and the guy the made the first pre-flop raise is out allready or has lost too a lesser pre-flop hand....Has anyone else noticed this...are these guys rookies trying to turn bad cards into good cards? or is it that in a freeroll they just do not care if they win or lose. _________________ Former USMC, got out in 1973 married 30 years to the same woman. I just notided this a few days ago and it worked.. You know how most sites have a "check any" or "check/fold" button? Well if first to act checks slow, then the rest check like dominoes falling, then they probably all have the check/fold to any bet button pressed because they don't have anything and are trying to keep the game moving fast. Throw in a bet and they might just all auto fold. Then if all of a sudden the dominos stop falling on one guy you ponders for a second then calls... I'd put him on low low pair or a draw.. But then again you never know because sometimes I'll flop the nuts and click to auto check.. hehe

i cant call all-ins, even if im sure they are a bluff. If its a semi-bluff and i have a low pair (e.g 6's), there's always the chance the other guy has 8's hoping to make others think he has K or A's. I tried it earlier with 8's and lost to 9's! C'est la vie

I rarely use the preselected boxes on a site. If I do, its only when someone in front of me is taking the whole time, or if I know I'm gonna fold it.

I know a few will always raise is everyone checks and they are in position. I usually call these players. They will try and raise you up to fold, but if i have say middle pair, i will call. Sometimes i win sometimes i lose...but u need to just watch and see...are they just trying to steal the blind, cause everyone else at the table are checking?
