JJ (Article III)

No if you have AJ you usually would only want to post 3 or 4 times the bb. Then if you dont hit on the flop, FOLD. If you stay in the hand, with a KQ on the board your probably going to lose, any callers of 3 or 4 times the bb usually have a decent hand.

I agree with you sand but it would have to depend at what stage in the tourney you are in. Such as if blind s are 10/20 3 to 4 times the BB would get you called by almost everyone on the table with a half decent hand. Now if the blinds are 500/1000 3 or 4 times the BB would be a good bet. This also depends on your position, stack size etc.

Poker would be a lot less interesting if it were a matter of playing particular hands in paricular ways.  However, as noted, there are often multiple factors to take into account, which means that the best answer will vary from one time to the next.

JJ has got to be my least favorite hand.  No matter what position I'm in or how I play it I always lose with jacks.  but, when I got AA and someone goes on in with jacks, they always seem to beat my aces.

I cant stand JJ as well.  I believe that they are one of the worst pocket pairs that you can get.  All the others are easier to either raise big or fold.  22 is one of my favorite.

yes I hate JJ too.

I dont like risking so many chips on the chance that the flop doesnt have a QK or A but am pretty much forced to bet a lot.

AJ in beginning I just call from early position but raise once its the later stages

I consider jj in the same boat as 88 sure you probably have the best hand going to the flop but with 5 cards to come surely someone can beat you.  I think you have to play the players on the table if you think they will fold to a big bet play your odds but if you have a table full of calling stations who will play any ace or king limp in and hope for trips/
