I have found on several sites where it takes like 1000000 raked hands lol. I find it very difficult to clear bonuses.

It can be really tough to claim bonuses playing at the micro-limits, but if you are going to try it, you might want to try to play more than one table.  Don't get in over your head, but do what you can to maximize your raked hands.

It also helps to find sites that count every hand towards the raked hands meter.  UB and Greentie do it that way.

Below .50 / $1, and even at that level, it can take quite a while to clear bonuses, so I try not to focu on them.  When i clear one, the bonus is exactly that, a bonus.  But I don't  focus on clearing them.  Instead, I simply try to win money from my opponents.  I find this to be a lot more profitable.  For example, the last time I cleared a bonus, my winnings while clearing it were more than 10 times as much.  If I had focused on the bonus, I might have been tempted to play more marginal hands in order to clear the bonus faster.  But in the big picture, that would have menat focusing on less than 9% of my total profit, which really doesn't make a lot of sense.

My strategy is to locate tables where a lot of action is taking place.  Even if I'm not very involved in the action, I can count on the aggressiveness of my opponents to get me raked hands consistently.  I agree that you're all but wasting your time trying to acculumate raked hands at levels less than $2/$4 limit or $.50 NL.

I also agree with Arjon's approach of focusing your attention on winning, and not on trying to accumulate bonus points.

On absolute poker, it isnt all that tough to clear a bonus, but it has its problems. you get 1 point for every .50 in rake. so once you play 200 raked hands, you get your bonus.  If I play decent tables, it usually takes my about a day worth of playing (maybe 4 hours.....)    Its a bit rough....but when your hitting cards, it takes no time at all...

titan poker is ridiculous for clearing bonuses you have to really climb the ladder to get higher vip status thus earning points quicker but u can only upgrade status once a month so by the time you reach a decent status your bonus has expired! ha

Another thing you might want to remember is that if you're going to play a serious amount of ring games at a decent level, you're often better off to do so at a site where you get rakeback rather than a bonus.  Bonus is just a re-distribution of part of the rake anyway.  And bonus is finite, whereas rakeback is ongoing.

I have found the the bonus at victor chandler poker where they give you a free 10 dollars and if you can get 4000 Action Points then they will give you another 25, very hard to conquer. Ive had my acount up to 90 dollars and back down to 5 and I still only seem to have aquired 2000 of the Action points. I dont think that I will make it unless everything works out perfect
