Showin' cards

It is possible to use the showing of your cards to your advantage. I played against a guy in Atlantic City once who kept raising with a garbage hand (I think 4 7 off suit) just to eventually buy the pot. He showed his cards so that everyone saw he was bluffing. Then the next hand he did the same thing. This time however, he had pocket kings and caught a set on the flop. I think that he showed his cards the first time to get people to think that he was playing garbage, then caught them the next time around with the best hand on the board.

showing cards has some advantages, you let other knosw that you are not playin any cards, so they ll respect your next raise, and that will give you oportunity to bluff more, some people say that you should never show your cards no matter what! but I think it is maybe good idea in some tourneys, but not in ring games, I am doin it there! _________________ Of course we gotta pay rent, so money connects, but
I'd rather be broke and have a whole lot of respect

I used to be a flasher but it does NOT really give you any advantages to show your winning hands if u show anything I say if u r playing a very solide game for the most part and u want some action when u bluff and win then show the bluff but if u do this it may give players the idea u play loosely so make sure next time u make a move have the nuts

i tend to show cards depending on the situation. I show cards sometimes to show my table image as a clean cut play what I get player so later in I can make a bluff. I show sometimes depending on whether or not I think I can get them on tilt or not. So thats just what I do

I have never shown my cards whether I win or lose. Is this the way most people play? I haven't been playing poker very long and I was just told when I started that the best way is not to show your cards.

basically yea iit worked for him that time, but pocket kings don't come around often and hes lucky he got that hand right after bluffing with rags. it's always best not to show, unless ur consistently stealing blinds or something and feel like showing a winning hand here or there.

I wish there was the capability of only showing one card. Sometimes ill show cards if Im raising a lot of pots to make people believe I have stuff so they wont come back at me with weak hands.

It really depends on what group of players your playing against. This strategy may work against weaker players, some of them may think hey that guys a bluffer, stronger players are not going to buy it period. They will respect you the same every hand.

The only times I show are when I have a monster. Quads or better. I will also so a few hands if it looks like I'm stealing the blinds, I don't need the person thinking I stealing all the time and playing back at me. So many ppl take the stealing of blinds to extremes and try to steal it everytime. You have to defend then, just call with huge hands and reraise with lesser hands _________________ If it isn't Jacked up, I get the worst cards live.

I personally don't like and I don't show my cards unless a friend asks me and I think it would not affect his play. I try to defend my game from this influence and I don't come to conclusions when players show their cards unncessarily. However, you should write notes for the rest of the hands.
