being afraid to lose is the wrong attitude to have at a poker table, online or not.  if u have picked up on a tight player and they push all in on u, then u may want to lay them down.  when a tight player pushes all in u will either be a slight favorite, if he has AX (X not being an A), or u are a big underdog, if he has AA or KK.  so it all depends on how well u know your player.  gotta remember poker is a people game.

It would have to be an enormous bet to not at least see a flop. However if you are familiar with your opponents betting styles, such as reading their posts on how they play AA, or past experience with them, a lay down may be in order.

Online, I cannot imagine folding pocket Qs pre-flop, especially in a freeroll. Maybe at the end of a tournament, in an expensive game, or with verifiably tight players. I might do it at a live table too, if I know the players. But online, the chances that someone actually has KK or AA vs. the odds that they are looser than loose and just going all-in out of boredom or impatience is just too high.

Of course, if you have QQ but you see a flop of AK5, you may as well fold to any sizeable bet because you're probably beat at a 10-person table.

I wouldn't say it's normal to fold them.  But, if you know the player very well or they are a very tight player, yes might have to fold them.  If you are sure the other player has an over pair or over cards, you have to decide whether the risk is worth it.  On average 1/2 the time you're a big dog to an over pair. The other 1/2 you're a slight favorite.

I would not fold pocket queens pre-flop, even if I had to go all in. You never know what the flop will be, and I have seen big pairs lose to unbelievable cards that no normal player would even play. One hand I saw was pocket aces and 3,7....quess what the flop was? -4,5,6!
Unreal, but it happens.

It cant be said enough poker is a game of people that uses cards. know your opponent. If hes super aggressive consistantly, bust him with your queens. If he's tight and you'll be out if you lose, fold.  If the bets not an all in for you though(like half your stack), you gotta roll them dice and take your chances. Luck favors the back bone not the wishbone.

as long as you don't have to go all in and can call...then make sure there are no Ks or As on the flop...if this occurs, you are usually good to go

Sure. But it is better to read the opponent and to determine, what range of hands he might reraising with. Yes, reraising. If you made a big reise and was greately reraised by the opponent - you should consider.
