Post URL New Sites Posted: Fri Jul 14, 2006 3:53 pm

There's all these new sites coming out and everyone seemingly is trying to get set up with them...My question that I'm presenting is basically which NEW sites are the best for promotions and overall play?  I don't download EVERY new site that seems to pop up but I know some do, or at least a great deal of them...  For the frequent downloaders, this question is for you: Which site is the best?  What are the goods, the bads?

One of the newest ones I have downloaded it Cake.  I really don't care for it.  I still play there but there is alot of freerollers there that really dont care about the game of poker...... they just want the $$

Cake is a new site, and there are basically sites popping up every week, however most of them are low budget, the only ones to pop up in the last year that look like they have a future are poker4ever, cake and jungle, the rest that i have been seeing look like crap.  However the pokercastele network of sites are crappy looking but there card disburtion seems the most realistic out of any site i have played on and this is over the course of a couple weeks.  You wont see pocket pairs every fifth hand at that site.

I like cake poker pretty good but I think they start you out with to many chips in the tourneys I think 1500 is plenty but it is all good

Cake Poker is probably the best among all the new sites, however I don't mind playing at this new site called Vegas007, at least at Vegas007 I don't find myself getting rivered and beaten by worst hands as much.

If you believe you're an above average player in a given tournament, it's advantageous to have a slower tournament structure, which can be due to the size of the starting stack and/or how quickly and often the blinds increase.  Slower structures give more room for skill vs. luck.

I like poker4ever and jungle is okay. In my opinion though Cake really needs some work. Two times in the last week I was in a private freeroll there and it freezes up for long periods of time and takes awhile to get back in. In the one game I froze twice, first time was for a half hour. I got back in and worked hard to get my chip stack back up only to have it happen again and then I couldn't get back in. I definitely won't be depositing there anytime soon, not until they get it fixed.

I tend to try to avoid new sites. As a matter of fact I am currently reducing the number of sites I have by either blowing away the money I have there or increasing it to a cashable amount. (usually $50). I have gone from around 40 sites with $$$ down to 25 and want to get down to around 10. Some I have had for years and never cashed out once and that is just unproductive.

I like to try new sites, but, I have dial- up and have a lot of trouble with getting them to run once I have downloaded them. The sites support people tell me after hours of trying everything they tell me to do, that if I have dial-up I'm probably not going to be able to use there sits. Is this a problem anyone else is having? it's very frustrating. I know I should get DSL, but it's not available where I live in the sticks.

i don't like that cake poekr site becuase along with all the other prima poker sites it contains people with many usernames who just play the freerolls and they play them crazy so no one can play regular and have a shot to win.  The overwhelming amount of players is what is making thee poker sites worse and worse becuase it is taking away from the name of poker
