I don't like them much, if I can get a look at the flop for the price of the big blind I will. But it also depends on the table, how aggressive/passive the table is. there are many many combos that can beat ya if you don't hit your set, and even if you hit your set. Remember raiseing on a small pair is an invitation to an even bigger reraise

i never lay them down if i can see the flop relativly cheap and if you make your set go for it, if you don`t and 1 or more overcards are on the board it`s a easy laydown.

Yep I agree. Get in cheap and if you don't hit your hand and it gets expensive, muck 'em.

Flat call it, if someone raises behind you... you should fold (unless they are very loose, in which case you would call a small raise). It's not worth the risk, especially if it's anything below 99.

well it all depends on the stacksizes in a tournament, and size of the blinds compared to your stack. That`s probably why they do it.

Always call if you can do it BB level. Even if you have deuces. You never know what will show up. Rewards can be enormous, but still remmember to get out cheaply if you can. Don't hope that the set will appear on the river.

low pocket pairs are the best trapping cards. Flop a set make a bet... If the raises preflop (in a ring game) get high its most likely not a good place to have them. Tournament players go all in with them all the time for many reasons: steal blinds, have decent odds, etc.

I prefer not to rise with a low pair unless I play only against one or two players max !

hands like these you have to play aggressively ok 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's ill limp in with and see a cheap flop, 6's - 9's you have to be aggressive, other wise you are going to have 3 or 4 players calling with J 10's which is what they will do because they are so loose especially on absolute and then your odds are minimul, really with a pocket pair you are loking tyo steal blinds/ antes, or play heads up, but really you want to try and win the hand as early as possible, usually when you get a pocket pair like 7's only 1 over card will hit the flop, in this case i like to bet strong and represent the over card throwing my opponents of 10's maybe, if you are getting called you need to slow down, maybe show you have JJ with a K on board or something. but i find the best way to play medium pocket pairs preflop is aggressivly but small pocket pair you have to limp in with
