How would you play a low pocket pair such as 22,33,44, and 55?

ok if you are gunna play a low pocket pair which i dont..... u should be aggressive with it even if you dont hit trips on the flop u still need to bet a decent amount of chips....more than the pot for example.................................................................................................... if i had 22 i would raise before the flop and if the flop doesnt show aces or pictures then i will bet the pot or a little more to force the other player out.............................................................................................................. BUT the best thing to do is just FOLD!!!!!

I limp in with those pocket pairs, and if i face a raise after my limp in i very often fold the hand. If you do not hit your set on the flop fold to any raise.

I would just limp in with low pocket pair pre-flop.  If you do hit trips on the flop then go for it, raise at least the pot.  If you don't and it's not too expensive to see the turn, then tri it!  But remember if someone raises pre-flop or after the flop, just fold.  Don't risk any more chips on a hand like that, especially early on in a freeroll...

From an early position I'd generally fold it, though I might raise it to mix up my play. From middle I'd generally limp, From late I might limp and I might raise. I either want to take it down preflop or get in cheap and hope to hit a set.

I love to limp and try to c the flop.  The problem w/raising is when the flop comes and if u dont hit trips it is going to be really hard to play.  Just limp limp limp.  That is how i do it!

When I have a low pocket pair I try to see a flop for the price of no more than twice the size of the big blind. If anyone raises more than that I will fold.

slow playing works best for small pp unless u catch on the flop then its a sizable bet to chase off the card chasers  Cool

I think always best to look at flop first, somebody can always have a higher pair or even catch flush/straight.

It's always hard to play low pocket pairs.
If I have plenty of chips I usally call if it's not to expensive.
But if it's an important tournament and I have decided to play tight, I usally throw them all!

I never play low pocket pairs online in early position.  I will call them if cheap in late position but must watch loose players who hit their hands. - Smile
