nothing you  can really do about that but raise more... the only time you should lose with KK is if someone catches a straight with high cards, an ace or their set, or a flush

If played correctly KK wins most times. You have to pay attention to your table and how it's playing.  Usually go all in with KK pre-flop and isolate to one player.

KK is one of my fav hands.  You need to definitely watch the table and how everyone is playin.  This hand is one that i take a lot of the loose, foolish players out with (maybe thats why i like it so much).

I dunno about the all-in right off the bat, but I have done it a couple of times

take into account the pace of the table, tight tables it might be good to raise 3 times the blind, loose tables it might be a preflop all-in

When playing KK, I like to open the pot if no one does, but if raised before me I just usually call, because if they have AJ, AQ, or AK they are most likely going to call you're raise anyways and if an A hits you're screwed.  I rather like to see a flop before I start raising with KK.

hmmm.. for me - the worst online premium hand.. i know it is 2nd best hand in poker but i had too many bad beats with this hand, so i don't know what to do when i get kings.. it seems like ACE always hits the flop online

i'm relativelly newbie in poker, so i play on lower stakes..  i went once on bigger stakes just to redeem points.. and got kings.. you guess - i lost all my bankroll on that hand.. (60$) .. i raised the preflop - been reraised.. so i reraised preflop by 20$ and got called.. flop was all rags - no possible str8 or flush draws (10 was highest card) ... i put this guy on high PP or AK .. didn't wanted to see the ACE - wanted that pot right there.. so i moved - 40$... i got called.. he was holding AQ .. turn was ACE

there are many times i won with KK - but it seems i m winning much less than my odds are ..

I agree that Ace rag seems to always beat the pocket kings and it usually happens on the river. I ahve seen Ace-rag beat KK more times than the other way around despite it being a 2-1 underdog. It is something I cannot explain.  Twisted Evil

Kings are a great powerful hand but they must be played properly. You can afford to raise big if nessecary as you are 70/30 favorite to win the hand unless of course someone has rockets(very unlikely) And if you raise big and see the flop you should realize that someone has an ace. If an ace comes on the flop be prepared to lay down your hand but if they are all under be prepared to reraise unless for danger of straight or flush draw.

KK is the most unlucky hand for me. I probably lose 80% of the time with that hand. It seems like someone puts me all in without an ace on the board and I lose everything.

K's are the type of hand you can find yourself broke with, or you can take down a pretty good size pot with.

You should definitely raise pre-flop with them (to eliminate opponents with weak A's) to narrow the field.  If you're re-raised, or worse re-raised all-in, it' s nearly impossible to get away from the hand.  However, unless you're 100% certain your opponent has A's, you have to throw your money in and take your chances.

I've lost my fair share of hands with K's, but have won quite a few big pots with them as well.  There's nothing more fulfilling than having them, getting a re-raise from your opponent all-in, you calling, and finding out they have Q's or middle pair.  You got your money in with the best of it, and that's ultimately the objective to be a winning poker player.
