Well, either you haven't been playing very long or you have a horseshoe somewhere where the sun don't shine.  This is definitely not a continuing winning hand.

if they were suited i would probably fold them still, to me its not all that great of a hand, but its pretty decent, would just have to do with what everyone else is doing

Some people like some hands for different reasons and that is what makes the game interesting. I have also never lost on the J8 clubs. The reason is that I would never play them unless I was drunk. Hmmmm. Maybe I did lose with them once or twice  I don't remember.  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

I think everyone has hands others consider weak.. But we play these hands strong for a reason.. weather they have a history or another reason. I love 10/j of hearts because I too have done well with it.. Took out an AK in a real tourny two weeks ago.. and hit a str flush online not too long ago..

Its a dangerous obsession on a semi-weak hand.. But hey some people play deuces all in.

yeah...I fold it every position but near the dealer button or at the dealer button.

Just because its suited doesnt mean its an amazing hand. But i do admit. My first straight flush ever happened with the J8 of diamonds Smile

you have to be lucky that's all there is to it. J8 can be good but it definitely depends on the situation. If 6 people call or raise preflop im gona fold that J8 suited fast.

That about SUMS IT UP for me!  Laughing   I too would have to be SMASHED to play a hand like this frequently.  Then again, it's nice to mess around with a hand like this every so often.  I highly doubt my opponent would put me on J 8, and when that MIRACLE Q 9 10 or 9 10 7 flop hits, your hand is GOLD!   Wink

Thgat is true Rambo I would never put you on a hand like that. If you are playing tight I put you on AA and when you loosen up a bit I put you on hands all the way down to QQ but only if you are on the button or one of the blinds.  Very Happy

I like this response a lot. a mediocore hand like this is not a winning hand all the time, in fact not much of the time. If you are playing hands like this, I want you at my table. Wink  Exclamation
