how should i play a hand like ace-ace or king-king? i've not really found it to be useful to slowplay it but when im aggresie with it, everybody folds or someone with a sorry hand winds up getting very lucky with a straight or flush, or two-pair! its very frustrating!
         -texas holdem by the way

Best way to play pocket aces is to raise pre-flop enough to discourage all but one caller. Often times that varies...you may knock out everyone preflop, but at least you have the blinds. I usually go about 5XBB. Once the flop comes, be agressive, but watch out if its a coordinated board.

I almost NEVER slowplay aces. I get my ass kicked whenever I try. Too many people in the pot increases the chances that someone will suck out with a lesser hand.

Think its better to go all in than slow play....Seems that you lose more often when you slow play... Razz

for sure playing pocket aces is a pre-flop play. but i do suggest to be careful in the beginning of a tourney when lots of junk players are still in the game.

dedends on how many chips u got, if u got a few go all in, if u got alot just make a regualr raise, and try to thin the field out, u know if youll win

Here is how I play them :

If I am short stack, ALL IN preflop.

If I am big stack : Huge raise preflop, maybe 10 times BB or more if there are lose big stack players, then all in on flop if i hit A "good" flop for my hand, means no flush draw, no straight draw, no pair. In the case I am not the first to bet, I raise a medium bet with a huge bet, I fold a Big bet.

If I am still in the pot with someone in turn, I'd be very very careful if don't have trips.

Ok when i get AA i ussually put up my standard raise depending on how many people are in front of me. You want to get up against 1 or 2 opponents but you do want callers. Standard raise is about 3-4 times bb and if i keep that raise the whole tournament it wont give away too much information tomy opponents pf. If the flop looks nasty i can get away from them.

lright well say that your dealt for example 78 Suited(hearts) in the Big Blind. There are 3-4 players that only call ot you and you check. Flop comes 7 of diamonds, Ace of hearts, and 3 of hearts. There is a very large raise to you.... to call or fold...... Turn comes 5 of clubs.... Another large raise to you.... This is where i would fold.
How would you play it?
