Don't over value your smaller pocket pairs.  Maybe come out with a bet preflop.  If you don't his trips on the flop and there are over cards, make a bet.  If people fold great, if they call, you're probably beat.  If you hit trips, you should be able to make some money.  Watch out for possible flushes and str8s though.

don't raise with the small pairs preflop but raise with the big pairs. if someone raises you preflop and you have a small pp depending on your odds its your choice to stay or fold. but if u think of the odds u only have 2 cards that will make you a set and someone else might have one of them.
